Master builder John A. Libby began his business nearly four decades ago restoring vintage timber frame barns.
As his company expanded, John combined the artisan craftsmanship he learned through barn restoration with modern design and construction technologies. Today, in addition to barn restoration, his company crafts custom homes, classic barns and specialty structures.
A founding member of the Timber Framers' Guild, John is one of the most respected custom builders in New England. Each client receives his personal attention, and John is always readily available to address questions and concerns, even long after projects have been completed.

Peter Truslow
Lead Timber Framer
207 865 4169
Once architectural plans have been finalized, Peter begins schematizing the timber frames, determining how each piece will best fit together. He uses traditional hand chiseling to complete his joinery, achieving a fit akin to what one would find in a piece of fine furniture.
Peter has great respect for the timber frame craft, having extensively studied medieval architecture as well as traditional Japanese timber framing. To him, every new timber frame project presents an exciting set of new challenges, even after 20 years with our company.
Peter lives in the timber frame home he and his wife Kathy built together.

Building Team
Our talented craftspeople are the heart of our company. As John puts it, they are "the best of the best." The entire crew is passionate about what they do. Many clients tell us they are sorry to see our crew leave at the end of a job because they have become part of their lives.
