Designs Inspired by You

We provide full design services to meet your needs here at Houses & Barns by John Libby.  Our design process is easy and flexible.  With no large upfront payments you control the process. Our architect and designer will meet with you to develop conceptual drawings and we can use our virtual software to create realistic 3-D renderings allowing you to visualize the final result.  Although we have everything you need under one roof, we are happy to work with your architect if you already are well under way with your project.   You direct the process from start to finish.  We listen to your ideas and ensure that everything important to you is incorporated into the overall design scheme.

 Quality Work -Timeless Craftsmanship

We build beautiful and energy efficient houses and barns strong enough to endure the test of time. Many of our custom houses and timber frame barns look historic because they are produced with specialized tools and techniques of generations past. Every project that incorporates a timber frame is custom cut in our Freeport, Maine workshop. We use traditional hand chiseling to complete the timber frame joinery, achieving a fit akin to what one would find in a piece of fine furniture. Our experienced crew then transports and raises the frame on your site, readying it for finishing by our talented and skilled construction team.
